Environment Management System for Aquaculture (ECOPACT)

We can assist you to implement an Environment Management System (EMS) on your fish and shellfish farm through our ECOPACT initative.

How can I implement an EMS on my farm?

Our Environment Officer Grainne O’Brien will work with you to draw up an Environmental Management Programme based on agreed targets to improve your farm’s environmental performance.

Together we will examine every environmental aspect of your operation, including:

  • waste management,
  • nature conservation,
  • visual impact,
  • even the use of public piers.

To date over 50 businesses have implemented an environmental management system.
