BIM will deliver a wide range of certified training courses to the sea fishing sector:

• Modular FETAC Certificate in Commercial Fishing targeted at new entrants and existing practitioners and
• Certificates of Competency for deck officers and
• Engineer officers, certified by the Department of Transport and the Marine.

Significant emphasis is placed on safety training and conservation awareness in both inshore and offshore fisheries, in particular the benefits to be derived from technical conservation measures. The mobile Coastal Training Units will play a very significant role in delivering modular training appropriate to the specific needs of the inshore component of the fleet.
